In Senior School the younger students continue to follow the Australian Curriculum with a focus on building literacy and numeracy skills.
Older students also follow the Australian Curriculum and are appropriately placed in various programs depending on their strengths and their need to develop necessary skills for their transition to adulthood. Students in years 10 – 12 are given opportunities to work across a range of settings. They are provided with flexible options that allow them to partner with external Registered Training Organisations to complete certificates and traineeships while still attending school part time.
Student well-being is also of crucial importance in the Senior School program to develop confidence, establish and maintain friendships as well as communicate effectively within the school environment and the wider community. Students who complete their school years at The Glenleighden School will receive a QCIA (Queensland Curriculum of Individual Achievement) and in addition, the school offers courses which can be credited towards a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
