School Support Services program has a long standing service agreement with the Queensland Department of Education through the:
- Specialist Disability Support in Schools (SDSS) program; and
- Non-State Special Needs Organisation Program (NSSNOP)
The SDSS program funds students from Prep to Year 12, who have a verification of Speech Language Impairment (SLI), Intellectual Disability (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social Emotional Disorder (SED) where language is their primary area of difficulty. The program aims to improve educational opportunities and learning outcomes for students with a disability.
NSSNOP funding delivers services that enhance the participation, inclusion and educational outcomes of school students with special needs. Under the current service agreement, School Support Services are able to visit students from Prep to Year 3 who are not verified, but have a suspected Language Disorder.
The NSSNOP also funds the development of evidence informed handouts and 12 self-directed Online Learning Modules developed specifically for educational settings.
