Transitions within the School Day Webinar

A transition is described as a change from one thing to another. On a regular basis, within the school day, students are required to transition quickly and efficiently between a variety of classroom activities to participate effectively within the school environment. Students with Language Disorder or associated difficulties may find these transition times extremely stressful and may have challenges following expectations, instructions, organising themselves and successfully transitioning between different classroom activities.

In this webinar, Tracey Huttley (Inclusion – Specialist Educator) and Taryn van der Westhuizen (Senior Occupational Therapist) will discuss:

  • What are transitions and why are they important?
  • What happens when students have difficulties with transitions?
  • What are different types of transitions?
  • What skills are needed for successful transitions?
  • Strategies to support successful transitions.
