Finding the best school for a child with Language Disorder can be a daunting task. The Glenleighden School is a unique Prep to Year 12 school supporting children and young people with disability for whom language is their primary disorder.
Glenleighden was established in 1979 and since opening its doors has supported more than 1000 students. Our school provides comprehensive, multi-disciplinary programs through a combination of teaching and therapy to prepare your child for the next stage of their educational journey.
Classes are small and delivered in a structured setting with attention given to individual learning needs. The student’s emotional well-being is also prioritised throughout the entire program.
Our specialised team comprises teachers, school assistants, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, a music therapist and psychologist. We teach children through modes that are engaging and effective for students with Language Disorder.
Teachers implement the Australian Curriculum with educational adjustments to support each student’s academic achievement. Therapists provide group based intervention targeting skills underpinning the curriculum, as well as addressing barriers to participation in everyday life.
